SIEM REAP
One of the world’s archaeological marvels – the great Temples of Angkor.
We feel experiencing Angkor is more about enjoying the diverse environment and richness of these sites according to your interests, rather than working through a checklist of ‘must see’ monuments. The prospective traveller might be forgiven for thinking that this is the extent of what Siem Reap has to offer, when in fact it is but one of the many uniquely Cambodian treasures found in the town’s confines. One can spend an afternoon cruising over the Tonle Sap Lake between the stilted residences of floating villages, visiting the Phare circus to see local talents outperform Cirque du Soleil or take in the beautiful local textile traditions on display at Les Chantiers Écoles.

Phnom Penh truly has something for everyone; the young in search of electric nightlife, historians intent on discovering the country’s rich past, architects looking to uncover Khmer, French colonial and Chinese buildings, photographers in search of the best Mekong sunrise shot and everything in between. The riverside also abounds with delicious local eateries, from popular ice-cream store Blue Pumpkin to casual restaurant Oskar Bistro and trendy Chinese House. For the more spiritually inclined, a dip into one of the local pagodas to witness and partake in meditation alongside local worshippers makes for a special experience.

The perfect hideaway in the Gulf of Thailand, the southern islands of Cambodia are home to all things slow, sustainable, and creative. We adore the beaches here, where aquamarine sea meets either chalk-white sand, craggy rocks, or emerald green jungle. In our opinion, each of the islands are akin to outdoor playgrounds: perfect for those with an adventurous spirit, as well as those who want to simply recline and relax on the shore under the cool shade of fluttering palm trees.
